A Vibrant Spring Wedding with Hand-Drawn Artwork That Sets the Tone

For Hayley and Dalton's April wedding, the stationery was designed to feel personal and playful. Rather than relying on a traditional wedding palette or a heavily formal aesthetic, the invitation suite embraced saturated color, hand-drawn illustrations, expressive typography, and unexpected details.

The result was a fully custom wedding invitation suite that carried the couple's personality from the first piece their guests received through the details waiting for them at the reception.

1. Find Inspiration

Custom wedding stationery begins with identifying the visual elements that will make the wedding feel cohesive yet personal to the couple.
For Hayley and Dalton, that meant moving away from the expected conventions of weddings and embracing something more vibrant and playful. A unique color story and organic, hand-drawn illustrations became the defining elements of their paper, appearing throughout the suite alongside loose borders, whimsical motifs, and irregular scalloped shapes.
Instead of making every element perfectly symmetrical and formal, the design allows the artwork and typography to feel handmade, giving the suite its playful personality.

2. From Sketches to Artwork

Custom artwork gave Hayley and Dalton’s stationery a personality all its own. Loose, hand-drawn illustrations bring each piece to life, while recurring colors, shapes, and typography tie everything together.

3. Selecting Materials
After the artwork was complete, it was time to focus on production.
For Hayley and Dalton’s suite, the materials were just as intentional as the artwork. Warm peach envelopes, colorful layered papers, fine white cord, and a custom wax seal create a tactile, dimensional experience. Even the vintage-inspired postage adds color and reinforces the suite’s playful, illustrated feel.

Before anything went to print, digital proofs were reviewed to confirm every detail including wording, layout, guest addressing, and print specifications. After final approval, the suite was sent into production.

4. Final Proof

The proofing stage is where the individual design decisions come together as a complete stationery system. For Hayley and Dalton’s colorful suite, balance was key. We used recurring colors, hand-drawn artwork, and organic shapes to create continuity without making every piece feel identical.
The result is a cohesive collection where each piece has its own personality while still feeling connected.
Every custom suite goes through multiple proof rounds before printing. This is where the smallest refinements happen. Margins are adjusted, typography is fine-tuned, colors are balanced, and every card is reviewed individually and as part of the complete suite.
Because custom stationery is highly collaborative, this stage ensures the final product reflects exactly what the couple envisioned before production begins.

5. Printing & Production

One of the most rewarding parts of custom stationery is seeing the design come to life as a physical object. For Hayley and Dalton’s suite, details like the layered pieces, letterpress printing, organic edges, cord, and vellum wrap add dimension that simply can’t be experienced on screen.
The finished suite is a tactile, thoughtfully constructed invitation experience.
