A Joyful Spring Wedding Filled with Color, Personality, and Paper That Told the Story

Julia and Nick envisioned a wedding that embraced bold color, modern design, and thoughtful details. Every piece of stationery was custom designed to complement the overall event, from the first Save the Date to the final reception signage.

Throughout the planning process, the stationery evolved alongside the florals, rentals, and overall event design, creating a cohesive experience for guests from the moment they opened the invitation through the last detail on the wedding day.

1. Find Inspiration

Every custom stationery project begins with gathering inspiration.
For Julia and Nick, that meant pulling together inspiration images, discussing the overall vision for the wedding, and identifying recurring design elements that would appear throughout the celebration. Rather than focusing on a single invitation design, we looked at the wedding as a complete visual experience.
During this phase, we established:
  • Overall color palette
  • Typography direction
  • Paper shapes
  • Floral inspiration
  • Signage style
  • Day-of stationery needs

2. From Sketches to Artwork

Once the creative direction was established, the design work began. Every custom invitation suite starts with sketches before moving into digital artwork. Sketching allows different layouts, layering options, and card shapes to be explored before committing to the final design.

Once the overall layout was approved, the suite was built digitally, refining typography, spacing, colors, and artwork until every piece worked together as one cohesive collection.

3. Selecting Materials
With the artwork complete, attention shifted to production.
This phase focuses on selecting the materials that will bring the design to life. Every decision affects both the appearance and the feel of the finished invitation suite.
Production planning included:
Paper selection
Ribbon selection
Vendor quotes and pricing
Print methods
Final envelope colors
Specialty finishes
Assembly order
Mailing preparation
Before anything went to print, digital proofs were reviewed to confirm every detail including wording, layout, guest addressing, and print specifications.
Only after final approval were files sent into production.

4. Final Proof

Every custom suite goes through multiple proof rounds before printing. This is where the smallest refinements happen.

Margins are adjusted, typography is fine-tuned, colors are balanced, and every card is reviewed individually and as part of the complete suite.

Because custom stationery is highly collaborative, this stage ensures the final product reflects exactly what the couple envisioned before production begins.

5. Printing & Production
